Our Mission

The mission of Mid Valley Recovery Services is to reduce the prevalence of alcohol and other drug problems in the communities in which we work. We serve this mission by supporting the recovery of addicted persons and their families, discouraging problem use of alcohol and other drugs, and by promoting public policies that support these efforts.

As a provider of community based recovery programs, Mid Valley works to increase the quality and availability of professional addiction services and to support the role of 12-step fellowships as a primary source of aid to individuals, families and communities. We strive for quality and efficiency in our operations toward the goal of equal access to needed services for all who seek them.

Our Philosophy

Mid Valley Recovery Services, Inc. was founded on the fundamental principles of Social Model Recovery. These principles recognize the significant role played by environmental influences in the origin and solution of alcohol and other drug problems. Public education, and policies affecting exposure to alcohol and other drug use are recognized as important factors in preventing associated problems.

For most people who encounter alcohol and other drug problems, it is recognized that family and community response can minimize the progress of illness and promote early recovery. Recovery occurs primarily outside of professional treatment programs, and commonly through participation in 12-step recovery fellowships. Social model programs provide uniquely supportive, group-focused environments (both residential and non-residential) for those who otherwise lack the social resources needed to support their recovery in the community.

While holding to the fundamental principles of social model recovery programs, Mid Valley has evolved many of its services to attain high standards of professionalism in the planning and provision of individual, family and group services, and in the operation of specialized residential environments.
