When I came to Mid Valley “Choices” I told myself I just needed to listen, take notes, and be open minded, that I needed to try something different. I didn't know what treatment would be like since this was my first time doing it. Mid Valley was the best place for me. Today, I have my three kids back, living with me at a sober living home; I'm able to be a mom again. Thanks to everyone here at Mid Valley, to the great staff, excellent counselors, who are caring and understanding. One day at a time, anything is possible and there is hope.

It was a Friday. The class was Relapse Prevention where it all happened. I for the first time chose to let go and get willing. Surprisingly, it felt good! I felt as if a heavy load was lifted. Soon after I let the program in good things started happening. I gave birth to my handsome beautiful son and he was strong, healthy, and clean. I got to keep him. I learned how not to use any mind altering substances and to be comfortable in my own skin. I was able to be with all my kids unmonitored. I learned how to be a better mother. I got to know the real me without the mask, the drugs and false pride. Mid Valley prepared me to be ready for the real life I have today.

I was 16 years old when I started using crystal meth. I spent the next 12 years in and out of jail. I attempted 6 different residential programs and 7 outpatient programs. I never finished any of them until I came to Mid Valley. I completed a 6 month program and still attend aftercare. With the help of my counselor, I finally have chosen a career path in my life. My mom has accepted me back in her life after 12 years. Today I have positive straight edge friends and acquaintances. I am enrolled in college. At one time I lived a distorted and pointless life. Today my life has meaning.
